Parts needed: STRC or similar Axial knuckles (RCP won't work, the arm doesn't clear VF or Mayhem wheels. The arm needs to have the same design as stock axial) Cutting/grinding equipment Axial knuckles are a direct replacement for OCM/Berg knuckles, you can even retain the nice little brass bushings. Just put the tie rod on the inner hole, grind off the excess, the arm and tie rod end are now completely contained within the diameter of the wheel. Problem solved. If you run a solid tie rod rather than 2 rods coming off the same servo horn you'll need to bend it to clear the gear case. As an added bonus, the tie rod is now pushed farther back towards the axle, and this should make it easier to achieve full steering throw with a 90 degree servo. I'll have pics tomorrow |
