This is my first post so please be nice, lol. Feel free to tear into me and say whatever. I've been racing nitro for a few years and thought I would try crawling. So I said I would just get the Axial RTR so I didnt have to by anything else for it. LOL, I should have known better. So then I wanted to try the bergs and I won a edge chassis so here is what I did. I used the e-flite servo because it was cheap and digital. The rig feels good but I need some more pratice with it. Here is where I but all the electronics. Its the bigger project box from radio shack. I had to smooth out the inside and remove one of the screw mounts. I can't believe it all fit. Its the front/rear dig set up. Works great. Way better then my old tranny and VF dig. I do miss the free wheel option though. Last edited by 666; 07-04-2008 at 09:06 AM. |

Thanks on the electronics !, took about 4 hours to do it. I know, Im slow. But my Mom says I'm special, lol. Does anyone know what will happen if I mount the lower links to the center of the skid and triangulate them? I see alot of rigs like that. Just wondering what it does. Looking to get rid of some articulation. |

The rig seems to work really good. I need to clock the front axle for sure but thats about it. It climbs a ton better then my axial rig. I also noticed when your try to jump up a ledge the rig dosent get so out of shape, must be because it dosent have drive shafts so there no torque twist. I just need to make it a straight axle in the rear somehow. I tried to make a C style clamp that went over the knuckle and axle but the aluminum was too soft and would bend. I might have to drill a hole in the axle and do the link set-up. The edge chassis is "ok", I just used it becuse it looks cool. Makes it a tad top heavy. Still better then my other rig though. I'm going to Taylors Falls on Sunday to do some testing.

| We're all special It's a good mod. If you triangulate the lowers, you'll help reduce axle torque (which is when one of your front tires - usually the front driver - lift as you hit full throttle) and axle steer during articulation. To reduce articulation, reduce the travel of your shocks with external/internal bump stops.

Hey Casey looks like we're playing catch up on the Berg thing, I won't be making that change this season every time I jump on the early band wagon something better becomes available. |

I did the straight axle mod in the rear, I put the metal knuckle bushings on the outside to help get ride of the little bit of rod bushing play. Also but axial knuckles up front. used the inner hole and cut off the rest. |

Glad to see that the Edge works with the Berg. I was thinking of trying this combo.

Just got done running at our normal comp location. The rig did great, but...lol the Edge chassis is a little top heavy. I think it would work a little better with the stock chassis. Going to try it next weekend and compare.
