Default Another Team RCC Berg: Swell's new ride

I bite the bullet a few weeks ago and ordered a Enroute Berg from Kevin at TCS. Within weeks between Holmes Hobbies and TCS I ordered a few more parts and before I knew it, it was time to start the build.

Highlights of parts:
Berg axles
VF Slingshot
Losi .6 shocks
Tekin FXR
CC BEC
HH 35T motors
Hitec HS-5955TG servo (steering)
Panther Cougars
NWT Reach Hybrid foams
f/r dig

I got to run it around the garage tonight and worked flawless for the first 5 minutes. Some how I lost power to the receiver. Troubleshoot that sometime this week.

Parts on order:
Mayhem's new comp BL
Axial XC-1 body (Painted Team RCC colors)
3c Lipo

Now the pics:

My dig setup similar to Kamikaze's Zero electronic plate. I freaking hated all the soldering especially the positive wires side.

Some off body shots...

Mandatory flex shot...

With my grappler on. Digging the slammed body look aka Jason's...

Looks really good. I like the slammed body look. Chassis looks great with those axles....maybe I should have not sold mine.

Nice Swell.
I was getting the same cutoff issue till I put in my CCBEC.
I see blue shrink wrap next to the servo but not sure if its your BEC.

Doesn't the FR/RR dig just kick arse!

Thanks guys... The Slingshot worked great with the Bergs. The chassis has the space for all the electronics plus lipo with the plate setup. Just running around the garage for 5 minutes testing was fun especially with the dig.

I did figure out that the CC BEC is blown this morning. I hooked up the Castle Link to it and it won't even detect it. Time for another order. For testing & tuning, I'll just run the servos straight from the Tekin.

BTW, with the Losi .6 shocks, what's everyone running for springs? I'm running the Losi 2" reds since I'm a hair under 3" of GC.

Looking forward to seeing that body on there as well. Rig looks really good so far! Same center clearance as I am running, although I think I want to raise mine a little...

Got the new Mayhem Berg beadlocks today. They are sweet!!! I'll get them mounted by this weekend. I'll order another set of rings in anodized green in a few weeks to match up with the new body.

some updates shots... still fine tuning it for nationals...

comp body i've been running for the past few weeks... have a new XC-1 body and new mayhem covers sitting on my bench for nationals.

i moved the tie rod and drag link higher from stock and made the tie rod out of delrin. i'm not digging the tie rod angle though but had no choose. in the stock location, i was getting hung up. i haven't had time to fab up a OTA setup.

i got the solid axle spacers from fubarcrawlers, thanks john. but he also made me a set custom CVD/berg hybrid axle shafts!

just watch for tire sidewall clearance when you move the links up. with the mayhem comp wheels with the berg offset, i've ripped 3 panther sidewalls in less than a week. i've switched from cap screws to button head screws and hopefully that will resolve the issue. find out tomorrow at the money run!!!

Glad i could help , give those CVDs H*LL!!

Can you move the steering links to the inner hole on the AX10 knuckles and still get enough throw? That should put the rodend in-line with the beadlock rings.. Sacrifice a bit of steering power but save the tires?

well it made it thru the money run without issues to a 3rd place finish. well almost... i was about to free crawl after the comp and had 3wd. i basically shattered the pin holding the CVD together. (mthead, which one did i get) wish i had some pictures of the pin carnage. however, the pin did not move though with dual screw set fix.
