Default Tyler's GC-2 Berg

Well i was able to get a new set of berg axles so Tyler (my 8 year old) recived my old ones.

His setup consists of berg axles of course
GC-2 chassis
45t V11 motors with stock pinions
MM speed control
Electric Dig front and rear
5955 Hitec servo
DX3R Radio
Traxxas big bore shocks with losi white springs front Yellows in the rear
I used a mixture of Axial,Revo and Jato links
Mayhem ocm offset wheels
Panther tires
NWTT hybrid foams

I am really happy with how easy this rig went together and even happier with how well it works.
I am sure Tyler is going to pick up a few points in the SERCRC standings with this truck.

A few pics

I will say nice job and it looks great.

Have to ask about your lower and upper links. On your lowers, did you bend them to get them around the motors? On the uppers, it looks like you did slightly triangulated, not parallel....is that correct? I tried to set my Berg's up with my GC2, but could not get the lower links to work or the uppers. Maybe I have my axles clocked too much....how much are yours clocked? Sorry for all the questions and thanks.

As far as the uppers being triangulated I know Austin runs his straight.

The rear lower links are TCS bent links for the AX10 and are a direct bolt in.
The rear upper links are a Traxxas turn buckle I think for a T-Max They are really long to clock the axle and so i was able to bend them up to clear the axle case.
The front lowers are the stock berg lowers that are bent to give me the wheel base i wanted and the front uppers are Jato turnbuckles with a Jato rod end on one side and a Revo on the other.

This rig does not bind what so ever.I did have to space the shocks off the chassis a little to keep them from binding.

I could not tell you why you would be hitting the case with the lowers. I am running the same lower link setup on my Zero chassis wich is even narrower than the GC-2 with no issues.

Nice Build, I'm in the process of building my GC2/berg. Did you clock your axles or is it stock? just curious.

The axles on both my rigs are stock and i just rolled the rear back with a longer upper link. I do not see where leaving them stock hurts.

Well guys he may only be 8years old but Tyler can flat out drive this new rig.
He placed it in 3rd At the SERCRC event today. It was raining the rocks were slick and muddy and the truck still worked great.
This thing will take a beating .And i could not get over how well it sits on long steep climbs when under full throttle and the tires spinning.
I look to see Tyler in the finals with his new at several more events this year

Good to hear. Sounds like Tyler will be a name we will be hearing about for a while. I think it is great to get kids involved in something they like, do well at and they can do with parent(s).

I want to say thanks for the pics and for answering my questions on the GC2 links. I built up my GC2 Berg and can't wait to run it. I will get some wheel time on it next week.

The GC-2 and OCM/Berg axle compliment each other well.
I've seen how stable the GC-2 is on vert climb and after having the pleasure to play on the rocks with Austin and several of the WA members I was really impressed how well the OCM/Berg axles work with his chassis.

Well Tyler had a few issues yesterday at the ALRC comp(Broke one inned and outer Berg shaft and a 5955 servo) Austin (Gatekeeper) helped us get him back up and running and even with the repair penalty and the minute off the clock he was able to get his 2nd top 10 finish with this new rig and he is only 8 years old.
Here is the results.

1.Joebruiser 8
2.Badd 15
3.RXCrawler 32
4.Gatekeeper 42
5.Fish 58
6.Yukon 59
7.Rockcrawler 72 (16 points on finals for tie breaker win)
8.Greg 72 (35 points on finals)
9.Tyler 95
10.Harvo 103

Love the wheels. Why not put your electronics lower in the chassic? Just my observation, if it works for you, than DO WORK.

The reason for the electronics being high in the chassis is so the lipo could sit on the skid.
I have moved them down and placed the lipo in between the front upper links but you can not tell a bit of difference and it was not worth the work.

My Zero runs the lipo on the skid and the electronics above it like in the pics of Tylers GC-2 above and it does not hurt a thing. I do belive the comp results prove that.

Well guys Tyler drove his heart out against what I think was the best group of drivers in the country this weekend at the nats.

His rig did what it was suppose to and so did he. I could have not asked him to try any harder than he did.
He was able to place his GC-2 Berg very well.
He placed 49thI am looking for him and his rig to progress thought the year very well.
