| Holmes' Berg SW3 comp rig
I swapped my comp rig axles from some custom ones Kami made to the berg axles. Nothing had to change really, and my rig acts the same as it ever did. Pretty sweet really, as I finally am getting used to how it handles. I placed 1st at the last CMRCRC comp with many KC guys here, and 9th out of 50 at the Ohio Battle Grounds comp. Slowly getting better at driving. Setup: SW3 chassis Berg Axles 5t Cobalt puller motors Dual FXR escs CC BEC X-Caliber 20C 7.4v 2200mah lipo DX7 Hitec 5955 Eritex wheels AX10 shocks set up half droop half compression Very stable, easy to predict, and ready to climb everything! I have a machinist making 11t down to 8t pinions for me too. 5t on 2s lipo is good, but I may try something else or bump the pinion down a bit. I also have a helluva hack job for the steering servo. It puts the horn inline with the knuckles though, so the steering angles are perfect with no binding and no loss of throw. |

I would be willing to say you do not have to worry about not having enough wheel speed |

There is a point of too much wheelspeed, but the extra speed helped me get through a gate that only 3 people out of 15 got through during the comp. I literally had to smack the face of the rock and let momentum do the work while hoping I didn't drift and hit a gate. Took one reverse point to do it and I didn't hit the gate markers. Would have liked to get that on vid.

What did you use to cut that servo mount John? a pitbull? Great setup, I love the idea of dual 5T Pullers. Congrats on the great finish in Ohio. |

Looks great John, I spent a night trying to fit the pullers on my berg axles but the tires were rubbing everything too much. WAY too much What is your width? Good to see that a 20c lipo can handle two pullers |

| that is funny right there.. my guess is a shaky hand with plasma cutter nice build jrh , i too tried the puller motors in my truck but with the lower links they would not fit . i see you mounted the lowers out far enough to accommodate the motors . was that a compromise or was that how you planned it ? i can only imagine the power the berg will have with that set up . |

I wanted to use the pullers, so that is where they mounted. I really didn't think about doing it any other way I guess. Width is at 10.5" I think. I am using axial offset wheels from Eritex. 2s is plenty for the 5t pullers, they are almost 3 times faster than a 55t motor. Servo mount was cut with a hacksaw 1/2 way, then bent till breaking the rest of the way. |

John, I love the cobalts on the berg. I'm gonna have to shelve the package you sent me this week (thanks by the way!) and follow you down the "way too much power" rabbit hole |

Nice build A$$hole, especially the SW3 with 5t cobalts to boot. Don't get to fancy with your fab skills, or we'll have to nickname you DubJ!

Here are a few pics of the setup. Getting my camera focused properly was a chore. Just a few holes in some angle aluminum and a couple of standoffs. |

DOOD. man that is sick! Wish I had 2 pullers then I wish I had the balls to put it in. I could really do some damage with those in the berg. Heck I couldn't keep up with all the parts I was breaking in the ax10.
