Default My ride on the Berg Bandwagon

Well, here is my version of the Berg build.

It was a last minute build thanks to that special someone who got me a set of axles. I owe you one sweetie If it hadn't been for you, I would have beem bringing a TLT knife to a Berg gunfight.

Berg axles

JConcepts "Stage Killa" body

Kamikaze Kustoms Zero chassis

Kamikaxe Kustoms high clearance delrin lower links

Revo upper links

Frt and Rear dig

Hitec 7955TG

Hitec HS65 (dig servo)

Mamba Max

Castle BEC at 6.5 volts

3S 2200 Lipo

35 or 45 turn handwounds

Mayhem Berg offset Competition Beadlocks

Panther Cougars or Claws

NWTracTech Reach Hybrids (8 in frt, 5 in rear)

FubarCrawler rear lockouts

3.5 inch shocks with caps cut and rod ends installed

These first few I was trying some AE truck shocks but didn't end up using them.

I just duplicated Dezfan's setup for the dig plate. Works perfect.

And with a std. servo hanging there for size reference for those never seeing a Zero in person.

Wouldn't this have a chance to arc onto the plate? I mean you'd have to make very sure the solder and wire never touched, especially it 2 did it.

Whatever that means. It is nowhere near as close as it looks in the pic, trust me.

Looking good man. Diggin the body!

I did put a layer of tape between the switches and the mounting plate to prevent any chances of an arc.

I have only been running it a few days now but am headed out the door to the best spot we have around here. Definately a step above my old rig though. Pulled lines here at the home course that I couldn't with my other rig.

I like it.

Wow that's a good looking rig in every aspect right down to that slammed body and great paint. I hope it serves you well at the Nats.

Thanks guys. I beat the hell out of it today. Only problems were a couple loose screws. The 3mm locknuts that come in the Berg kit don't seem to hold very strong.
I ran it with an 1100 pack today and with a 2200 strapped to the rear axle. I definately liked the bigger batt. but even though it is down below the top of the tires and tucked up tight to the rear axle it did take a shot today, nothing major but enough to make me undecided on what batt I will usually run in here. Anything bigger than the 1100 in the belly gets into the lower links.

I was thinking maybe an 1100 inside and another 1100 on the rear axle, I could get it up in there above the rear axle up out of the way.

Put a piece of lexan over the battery to protect it.

Very nice looking setup. I bet it handles quite well. Seems to be the hot ticket these days (mines in the mail).
