| Berg kit or axles.
I have been reading the threads in the forum and it looks like everyone is going to bergs. From the info I gather here they are a much better choice then the HR MOA AX-10 swap. I have a AX-10 that has the CKRC rockstar chassis. I would like to by bergs for my rig, but I am not sure if I should get the whole kit or just the axles. Any and all help and info would be great.

i hear the stock berg chassis sucks but either way for an extra $100 you get an exra set of beadlocks, a chassis to play with and aluminum shocks for whatever. i would go with the whole deal.

whatever you want. Is there much availability of either at the moment? I haven't read many threads where ppl are using the stock chassis. so that must be a bit of a waste, and the stock wheels are apparently 1/2" too wide and everyone spends a green or more on offset wheels so they are wasted too. I guess the only thing ppl really use are the axles anyway so if they're cheaper (i think you have to supply your own pinions too) |

I bought the kit off a member here, so there mods already done to it.I'm running a stock chassis with stock shocks for the time being. I'm glad I got a kit, for the servo mount. I ended up using alot of the hardware also. |

If this is your first build I would get the kit unless you have a good idea of exactly what you are going to do. Get the kit and enjoy it while you figure out what you want to do next.

get the kit, you can use the parts for for something eventually, and can you really have enough beadlocks?

| This will be my first crawler build but not my first RC build. I will probably get the kit, if I can find someone who has it in stock. Thanks for the good info . |

If you just buy the axles dont you also need the upper link mounts, the servo plate and the upper and lower mounting clamps for the servo plate? Are there any other "must have" parts to make these axles usable?

The only thing i used that's not with the axles is the two motor pinions. If i done my build again and just bought axles it would cost; 240 - axles 20 - pinions 200 - esc's 50 - motors 50 - RX 40 - Battery 50 - tires 100 - servos 50 - chassis 30 - body 830USD all up In reality it cost alot more cos i bought the whole kit + new wheels + 100 in postage etc. | |

Well I already have the chassis, all the electronics, suspention etc. The only things I will need is the axles, servo and battery plates, steering linkage and another motor. Oh and I forgot a new set of wheels as well.
