| Yukon's KK Zero conversion
At first I modified the stock stuff to comp legal specs and it worked great. These axles are freakin sweet. After seeing multiple Zero's competing in SERCRC I decided to change over and give it shot. Rebuild Specs: KK Zero w/ KK high clearance links 45T motors CC mamba max CC bec hobbico cs170 Losi shocks Panther cougars Vanquish DH pro wheels Fubarcrawler's Lockouts NWTT reach #8 in front and #5 in rear DX3 Axial XC-1 body Before: Roller Form: Last edited by yukon635; 09-19-2008 at 08:15 PM. |

I was able to transfer my dig setup from the stock chassis over to the zero. I am using a hitec-81 for a dig servo, which wouldnt fit in the KK electronics tray so it end up all working out. Since the berg kit came with two skids I used one to mount all the dig electronics on. Works perfect and fits perfect within the Zero chassis Now to work on the steering setup. More updates later |

Got the steering setup. I dont know if I like it like this but I wanted to get the servo down and also I had to make room for the upper links to be spaced out. |

Just so you know you do not have to space the upper links out it works fine with them double triangulated. |

Looks good Kevin. I think you can get it lower... I had to cut the rear like you did so the links would have some where to go!!!

Thanks guys for all the compliments. All I need now is my new KK steering link LOOK AT WHAT SHOWED UP TODAY !!!!! All I can saw is WOW I was speechless when i opened the box and peeled off the protective plastic. The engraving is top notch work. The pics show a bunch of scuff marks but that is from the table. These came perfectly clear They handle the 2.2 weight just fine and I dont think it will have trouble holding my PIG of a SUPER. Last edited by yukon635; 09-30-2008 at 09:54 PM. |

Got some new wheels I was able to pull the rear to 10 1/16" wide and the front to 10 1/8" These were some of the easiest wheels I have ever mounted. I also got me some new rubbers too These are the white compound |

Now that it is the off season, I am going to rework the entire 2.2. I want some handwound motors but dont have the money to buy them so I decided to try my hand at winding my own. Thanks to JRH for doing a great write up and BADD for the tips Link I have gotten one done and my freakin fingers are killing me with trying to keep everything tight and even. One thing he forgot to mention that you will need is 'concentration.' I think i had to unwind two comms to recount them because i was too busy watching monday night football by the time I was on the final comm, I figured out that leaving the magnet wire on the spool and using the spool to pull tight was the easiest and best way instead of using your hands and fingers to pull and hold I ended up using the largest gauge wire (22 I think) that came in the trio package. | |
