I second that question. I was going to put some lube on the gears, but held back.

You probably shorted the battery out somewhere. Make sure you pull the red wire out of the receiver plug of your ESC.

Putting some grease on the gears isn't a bad idea. Also I'd advise pulling all the screws out and putting locktite on them. And, as mentioned earlier the gears are metric, standard 48p pinions will not work for long. Check your gear mesh, that may also be the problem. My berg axles are whisper quiet.

How did you have the CC BEC wired in?

Another member fried their BEC earlier this week with it wired directly to the servo.

edit: About the loud n whinny part.....................did you figure out the difference between clocking the axles and clocking the motors as you posted a couple of days ago?

Make sure your gear mesh isn't too tight....

The kit I built mine from had lube in both gearcases from the factory. Stock pinions with the proper gear mesh should be quiet.

As for the smoked battery, sounds like a dead short, somewhere....which may have affected you BEC......

+1... Gears should be just snug, but not pressed up agaisnt each other while you tighten the motor mount screws. If too tight, it will make more noise, friction, and wear.

as for the wiring i followed a diagram on here from someone. i did leave the red wire on the reciever plug of my esc. thats prolly my problem there.

as for the loud axles, i bought the axle kit (no pionion supplied ) i did use standard 48 pitch gears. my mesh wasnt tight but wasnt too loose either. i put a little gear grease in there due to them looking dry. im goin to purchase gear jelly and see how that works. where can i get those metric 48 pitch gears for the berg???????

I read somewhere on a thread here on RCC(a few weeks ago) that the loud whining sound eventually goes away with use. gears need to be broken in.( Thats what I heard) My truck got quieter over the past three months with the same pinion from when I first builted it.(IMO)

You should pulled the red esc wire.

The berg gears are 48 metric pitched, that why it so loud.
