Whats the belly clearance? It looks low. Also, how tall is the chassis? From skid to the top?

It looks a little bulky for my taste, but if it works, go with it. Is the skid made out of the same material?
What's up with the Losi shocks?

the losi shocks leak horribly from the factory.
they only have one pivot end, and that ball doesnt have shoulders on it so if you bolt it to berg axle mount it is bound from the start. not to mention i have to rig up a pivot for the top of the shock body...

as for the bulk issue, there is none. its a complete delrin chassis including skid. we are refining the design already, this is not a final product by any means.
height from skid to top is 3.25 inches
belly clearance is 2 5/8th inches

i build belly draggers so that is why its so low...

You didn't tighten your cartridges down far enough. Trust me, Mine don't leak. If that doesn't work, there's always teflon tape. Pick up some pede shock ends, that way you get the shoulder, and a 3mm hole. Problem solved! Now you got really nice smooth shocks! If you're really worried about not having a ball end on the top, grind the end off and drill a hole, put a bolt through it, and stick a rod end on the bolt. Seal it all up with silicone caulk.

Great looking truck, I love the red centers on your wheels. And I agree, belly draggers rock! I just don't know how people make these things work well with 3 1/2" of center clearance.

Edit: How do you like the KO radio? Seems their stuff is really pricey, is it worth it?

the ko is way cheaper than the futaba... and yes it like it much better. i havent had much time to tinker with it yet but i am sure it is more than capable, i just need to figure it all out.

as for the losi shocks, after 60 bucks i shouldnt have to do squat to them. i understand how to make them work but i dont think that a "crawler shock" should require mods to work well on a crawler.

I use traxxas rod ends for my losi shocks.

red that is what i did to rig them up... a stock berg end in the top of the shock.
as for the other end i put a traxxas end on it as well...

i just think its funny how they label them crawler shocks but its just a xxxt shock. i guess i was expecting more from losi.. for my money i will stick with my traxxas big bores from now on.

Yeah same thoughts here. I hate the fuel tubing method but the berg ball in the top works great.

As for the chassis............I guess function over form would be the only way I could explain it to myself. Not much "shape" to it.

Why limit access to mounting locations on a PROTOTYPE? This is a prototype test mule chassis, and we left a few things out to speed up the machining time. There will be a LOT more "shape" to the final version of the chassis.

Looks like a good chassis
I would rather have function over form myself. A chassis with a bunch of fancy shapes on it don't mean nothing if it doesn't perform. Besides, it'll be covered with a body anyway...

yeah like the matts said.. its a prototype. lots of fat to trim on the shape, i am more worried about finding out what will work before i go cutting on it just so you think it looks neat.
