Default Stiff gears - normal?

I've got a new set of Berg axles, and I'm finding when I spin the axles (without wheels) they tend to hit a stiff spot every few rotations. It doesn't stop rotation completely, just creates a stiffness. Just wondering if this is normal and the gears just need to be broken in? I've taken the cases apart and haven't noticed anything catching.

I noticed mine did that when I put them together. I just sat there and turned the wheel wheels back and forth on that spot for a while and it seemed to have loosened them up nicely.

it wont hurt anything if you leave it alone but it will drag the motor and draw more amps than needed when going slow

Perfect, that's what I was looking for. Time to open the cases and seat that bearing where it needs to be

Mine and my brothers had a spot like that when they were new. It went away on its own.

Mine did the same. The cross pin inside was not seated correctly. Also the drive cup on the axles was hitting the kingpin on the knuckles. Slightly shaved and much better
