Default what motors liked the best on Berg

Hey Berg guys, I just bought a berg project-on sale cheap , I could not pass up , I'm stoked:-P

Need some advice
To the guys doing well and winning at comps, Which brushed motors are thing to get ? it looks like HH hand wound.

Is an FXR ESC safe to run 2 of these 35t or 45 dual motors ?

What wheel offset / wheel track do I ask /look for in a beadlock .Do you go with the most narrow that will fit
I know about the cutting/redrilling of the stock knuckles

I was thinking either RC4Wd Magnums DT narrow or Mayhems, eritex, VP . any Thoughts

Thanks guys
Ri

its all gonna depend on the wheel speed you want and the voltage your gonna be running. I would say from what I have seen 45t and 35t is where its at. 45t if your running high voltage and 35t if your running 8.4v or less.

thank you that is interesting. Anybody Else
So Lipo is a key fator ..?
I thought people would like brushless, they are lighter and seem to have more power and speed.

Seems like Lipo has less places on crawler to put.
Do you guys feel that having the Lipo weight on the Chassis is better off than having NiMh batteries on the front axle for weight

When they say lypo they are talking about small packs. I run 1100mah and 1550 mah 3 cell packs in mine. The whole battery weighs about as much as 2 sub c cells.

Brushed - for one reason, throttle control. I use 45turn motors with a 3 cell lipo.

There are lots of places to put a lipo. In the chassis, on the front axle, on the rear axle, on top of the front upper links, top of rear upper links, or under the upper links. Or get creative with lipo saddle packs.

The light weight of lipos make it easier to tune the weight bias with stick on weight.

You will want to use the Mamba Max over the Rebel2, because the MM has drag breaks.

For the wheels and comps, the narrower the better. Makes squeezing through gates easier when you have 6" to spare than when there is only 4" to spare.

Just don't even bother to go cheap on the wheels. Nothing less than aluminum or delrin will stand a chance with these axles.
Exitex is having a nice sale on berg offset delrin wheels, those would be a great buy.

thanks for feedback, I would not go cheap here, actually it's hard me to go cheap anywhere, have you seen my Super build LOL .
I wondering about those Delrin beadlocks , I though you would want that aluminum weight, i like the shine to boot .
I saw a berg with Delrin rear and Alum front.

I am looking at the Live weight Mayhems or the VP Revolvers or Vanquish Dirty Harry ,
any opinions of those would be great also.

I really like the look of these (rc4wd) , but not a fan of the rings and I like the funtionality of the Mayhams and Vanquish

I run Mayhems Comp berg beadlocks. I ended up using all the weight so no live weight for me. I think most use them all aswell. But I can;r speak for them. Both are very nice wheels. You just have to pick one that looks good on your rig.

DNA makes some awsome wheels as well. I have 2 sets of snipers and they are sweet looking and a perfect weight. The make them in Berg offset too!
