| TAG Team - binaryterrors 09 Rig
Well thanks to The Eye allowing me to be on the TAG Team and getting to use some great products for the 2009 season. Well let the build thread begin. Axles: Berg, front clocked 22.5 degrees Body: J-Concepts "Stage Killah", Painted by The Butler Chassis: The TAG - custom tattooed Shocks: Traxxas Big Bore XL's Upper Links: Revo 112's fron and rear, rear has 1 4mm pacer and long offset Kyosho rod ends Lower Links: TAG Line Medium Clearance custom engraved Steering Link: Kamikaze Kustoms ESC: Tekin FX-R Steering Servo: JR 8711 BEC: Castle Creations @ 6.2v Dig Switches: 22amp Honeywell with 100gram force Dig Servo: JR 185S (ultra micro) Battery: Flightpower 3S 1345 Wheels: DNA Snipers - customized with countersunk rins and screws for less hang ups. Tires: HB White Rovers and Panther Cougars Ground Clearance: 3.25" to 3.38" drooped out The fun begins in the barebones set up Looking forward to the Omaha comp. The rig is very predicatble and smooth. Also the small skid plate makes for very good clearance in and out of the deep holes. Last edited by binaryterror; 03-07-2009 at 05:12 PM. |

Clean rig. The custom engraving is sweet, gives it a personal touch, so many rigs now look a like. Where you gonna run your battery?

Looks great Binaryterror! Btw, in the first pic it looks like your castor needs adjusted (shorter uppers). Maybe its just the picture angle.? Anyway, very nice build |

| I ended up adding 4mm spacers to the lower section of the front. Got me a touch closer to 12.5 (Stock is 12 3/8") and fixed the caster. The first pic were a quick build, hadn't set anything in stone. Might also go 1 hole lower on the front links.

Cool, how do you like the f400 foams? I ordered a set the other day. How do they compare to the NWTT all-weather reach foams (or similar)?

For the Chisels and the Panthers I run 2" wide...I had these 1.875" ones made on accident for something else, but they work in the Rovers well. Stiff enough to provide sidehill support but soft enough to make the tires still work. The NWTT were good for about 1 day, but then they'd get soft and mushy. I got tired of working with them all the time to make sure they were "fresh" for the next comp. My rig isn't heavy, but these foams are pretty soft compared to most others. | |

Do you like the panthers or the hbs better? How much does the rig weight? |

| Its a toss up. The Panthers perform better all around, but lack the clearance of the Rovers. I think a taller Panther would rule the 2.2 world. Quote:

Thanks for the info. Seems like lot of folks are happy with the rovers. Nicely built rig.

Big update since I was given an Invite for 2.2's in MiRCa by finishing 2nd in point for the first 4 comps. I've been working with The Eye on some new goodies...Time to build a bodiless idea and we did. Discard the look of the green panels, they were just there for a quick and dirty mount...turned out very John Deere green. |
