| DTP's Kamikaze Zero 3.5
First, I'd like to thank my sponsors, RCP Crawlers, Montana Scale Designs, & Holmes Hobbies. Also, Thank you Jeff for hooking me up with three sweet chassis. Well, got the e-mail that my chassis shipped yesterday, so last night I tore down my previous comp rig. Took the shocks to work today to cut off the mounting tabs & drilled a hole in the top for a rod end. I was using Losi .6's which are 3.125678765578825". Obviously I need 3.5's for this, so with a rod end on it, it should be right there. I am also going to tap it for a 3mm screw, so hopefully it leaks less. When I got home I started wiring up the dig switches. Went with 4mm bullet connectors. Also used one of the micro servos from my DX6. Holmes Hobbies provied the manly switches. Going to work on the axles now................. |

Are your's upside down or right side up? I think I might need them upside down for more clearance. Here's why. Got the front together for now. The VP knuckles looks like it will come close to the shock. I also need to grind the drive cup down tomorrow. | |

Chassis came in the mail yesterday, but before I could get home & start, I had a little accident at work. While trying to remove a stripped screw, the screwdriver slipped I stabbed myself right in the meat of my palm. After spending 4 hours in the ER, mostly waiting & playing games on my Ipod, Got home I started one hand building. I already had the shocks finished, so I bolted everything up. I couldn't find any long 3mm button heads for the skid/lower links, so I just took the countersunks from the slingshot. All the LHS's are out of 3x30, but I think I know someone with some. On wed., while my hand was still good, I was able to grind down some axial stub shafts. I also had to put the bevel back on the inside of the cup. With these VP knuckles it is a must if you want any kind of steering as the knuckles mount closer to the C's. Looks like I got more throw too. Gotta go check the mailbox. |
