Big thanks and props to T1E for producing such a nice chassis and Rockshow for the design.

I have had it built for a little while but just have not had time to start a build thread. Here is where it sits now with a few things left to do. One big thing that needed to be done was to replace the delrin braces that the shocks mount into with some alum. ones from the berg kit. I had problems with them pulling out but it is fixed now

Specs:

Tekin FXR w/ CC bec
Berg axles w/ CKRC rear lockout
T1E Rockshow chassis w/ KK dig tray
DNA Thrashers w/ HB white Rovers / DNA Snipers with Panther Cougars
Hobbico cs-170
Holmes Hobbies Manly dig switches
Traxxas big bore shocks
35T motors
Spektrum DX3

Cockpit shot w/ wires cleaned up and hidden

Holmes monster Manly dig switches mounted. They are on top and everything else is mounted on the underside and crammed in the chassis. I cut a piece of lexan and mounted it on top of the switches to help keep debris from getting tangled in the switches.

Side shot how well I was able to hide all the wiring.

I was using Fubar lockouts but wanted to try out the CKRC lockouts since there was the possibility of narrowing the rear a total of 1". I figured 1" was too much so I narrowed the rear down by 1/2" total. (1/4" on each side. It was pretty easy to do but just took a lot of cutting and grinding

Here you can see how narrow the rear is with panthers and HB

I talked with my buddy Greg about steering options and got him to fab me up his slick OTA steering setup. Thanks man

It mounted up very easily. DNA should be coming out with these in the near future, so keep your eyes out.

All of the mounts are made from delrin and the steering rod is alum. The entire setup is super light.

I cut up a piece of angle alum. to help protect the servo since it is sitting out in the open

The top links mount had to be recessed back some in order to keep everything close.

next you will have to flip the link mount around and mount the other delrin servo mount

You can see how space is left between everything and how precise everything was thought and done

Nice Show! Welcome to the growing Rockshow Community. These rigs are spartan and effective! Nice clean cockpit. So your switches are on your plate and you have a plate on top of those too?

And the stock berg crosspieces just fit right in huh? Good idea! I stripped one of mine for the shock mounts too.

Is your battery mounted under your front links? Can you take a closeup of how you have that set up?

I'm not crazy about my rear axle battery mount.

Yeah the dig switches are on the top. Then I have a piece of lexan I painted black that is mounted on top of them using the same screws that are holding the switches onto the plate.

Yeah, the stock berg pieces drop right in

I cut a piece of lexan and zip tied it the the top links. I then cut up some rubber grip thing (that you use to open jars) and used some 3M adhesive to attach it the lexan so the lipo doesnt slide around. This way I dont have to use velcro (which reduces space). I just use a velcro strap to hold it in place

I am using Holmes Hobbies 1300mah 11.1v lipo. Perfect little lipo with great punch

Here is a comparison of it next to a Maxamps 1100 lipo. Not much of a difference, just a hair longer

Also got it legal and withing specs by extending the braces. I didnt want the side panels hanging out so figured I would let them stick out around the same area the shocks are

Now I just need to add some stickers to it

With being busy with a new job, I finally had time to post up some updates.

Some may have noticed that several crawlers like to space out the rear shocks more that others. I find that it helps with stability and allows the shocks to cycle smoother. Gatekeeper showed this to me a couple of years ago. Other people like Tanis and Rockcrawler also like and use this shock setup.

On my Rockshow, I have been having trouble with the 3mm screws bending on me, esp. if i get in a bind or rollover (cause I will give it hell until I decide I need to take the rollover). I got to talking with TEDROCKS about having some titanium standoffs made.

So after much frustration, I contacted Rocksmith to see what he could fab up for me since he makes titanium links for just about anything you can think of (give the man some dimensions and watch him go to work). I told him my problem, did a sketch of measurements, and he went straight to work. Rocksmith threw in some of his ideas on keeping the system lightweight but also to keep it beefy.

Here is what we came up with. The chassis spacer is made of alum. (I dont remember the exact specs but I believe it is 1/4" in diameter). The standoffs are made of titanium. The threaded area that screws into the chassis brace is 6/32 thread. Then we have the spacer, then it steps down to 3.5mm to slide into the fuel tubing of the shocks, and finally into 3mm threads for a lock nut. All I can say is beefy

so far I have not had any problems

I must say, Rocksmith did outstanding work and got them done in a timely fashion

He communicated very well and I recieved exactly what I wanted. Now onto some pics

First, here you can see the 3 peices I recieved and the quality of the parts he produces

here you can see a side by side comparison of the 3mm thread at ends of the standoffs compared to the thread of the chassis spacer

These things were super simple to install. I put a little bit of shock oil on the inside of the fuel tubing so that it would just slide onto the standoff.

Pushed the shock on and locked it into place with a small washer and lock nut and ........ all done.

A BIG thanks to Rocksmith for the great product and taking all the worries away

More updates to come as the camera recharges
