Default Front wheel play, is this common?

Has anyone else had problems with play in the the front wheels? I can wiggle the front wheels pretty bad! I think it might be coming from the those little gold bushings in the steering hub arms, or mabey from the bearings in the c-hub. Is there a easy fix for this that could save me some messing around time?

The stock bearings do cause some play.

Also the brass sleeves do where out over time.

I switched out the brass bushings for a set of Axial steel bushings ( from the scorpion kit) . You have to file them down a bit since they are taller but they eliminate the slop and wont wear nearly as badly.

cheap and easy upgrade for the berg, they dont seem to wear. Try it, you'll like it.

Also HPI makes the same thing as the Axials...I believe they are cheaper by a few pennies.

I might go that route...not looking forward to cutting them down though.

cutting them down shouldn't be too big a deal. but out the dremel and take out a little bit at a time til they're right.

Take the bushings out and throw them away, than insert the knuckle screws left over from your TLT kit and enjoy slop free knuckles.

Replace the bearings too. I notice play in mine again (already running Axial bushings) and found the stock bearings were blown.

Just a good preventitve measure.

1st signs of getting old you guys, you still have TLT parts laying around. I got about 7 or 8 of those boxes stacked up on a shelf.

I'll be nice, TLT is the OG 2.2 comp axles. CLICKY Not sure if you can still get the hardware from anyone but they use a shoulder screw for the knuckle instead of them little bushings like the bergs.
