Grab a spare set of gears and a spare set of shafts. Replace all the stubs with Axial stubs and make sure you have the o-rings installed still. You won't need anything else.

You might also consider some better bearings as well.
The stock Berg/NewAge bearings SUCK, and will develop serious slop over time.

Only failures I've ever had was a 3rd gear stripping, and a broken bone.
Both times I was REALLY asking for it, & thats over HOURS & HOURS of runtime!!

I Can't say that about any shafty I've ever ran

I agree, if you have some extra cash laying around than replace all the bearings you can. I have exploded two bearings in mine. Both times would have caused some serious failures if i didn't catch them before running.

inners, inners and more inners. IMO,the stock inner shafts are junk. In just a few months at most,I've put almost a dozen inner shafts in mine. Chewed the teeth up a bit on all the gears in my front axle not halfway through my first pack after building mine. I think that was from a faulty pinion though. Put actual Berg pinions in it and it's been good as far as that's concerned. Ain't had troubles from the stock stubs though. Never broke a inner shaft or stub on my Axial, and I was running allot more motor.

Is having a set of gears really nesessary? I mean do they break like a lot, or on rare occasion?

Im going to get some axle shafts, and already got the Axial outers, but the gears are expensive if its something you dont really need on hand.

Are you running the o-rings inside the stub shafts?

Weird. I would think that the stubs would let go first. I've wadded mine up pretty good an hammered on it, but so far nothing has broken... just a matter of time though my rig is somewhat new still.

Mine started breaking half way through it's first pack.

I'm used to crawling with rigs built with 1:8 scale buggy parts. You just power through everything. These little axles just can't take it.
