| Ittybitty Zero-T/4.0 Buildup
Well guys I sold off a majority of my SWX rig and decided to move to the darkside. I wouldn't be sitting here typing this, but I have developed a sincere hate for the USPS tracking system seeing as how my goodies haven't shown up yet and I have no way of knowing when they will show up for sure. SO...I figured I'd start my build thread and let ya'll know what I'd be piloting now. Id also like to say thanks to Jeff at Kamikaze Kustoms for his great chassis products, to Lonewolf Designs for answering all my questions, as well as Mayhem Engineering cuz I know I annoyed him!!! Specs: KK Zero-T Chassis KK Dig Tray KK Rear Axle Tray KK Medium Clearance Lower Links Front/Rear KK High Clearance Steering Link EnRoute Berg Axle Set Avid RC Rubber Bearings 13t/12t pinions (also got a 14t to try later) Modified Axial Stub Shafts JP Customs Lockouts - New Style Lonewolf Designs Axle Skids - These are nice! Hitec 5955TG Steering Servo - Custom Mount Upper Links - Traxxas Revo Pushrods Front - 5318 Rear - 5319 Dig - Manly Switches & HS-55 Sevo Holmes Hobbies 45t Torquemaster Pro Handwound Motors Mayhem Engineering Spiders - Silver/Silver (might have red rings later) Tekin FXR Speed Controller CKRC 1500mah 11.1v LiPo Batteries (2) HB Rovers - White Compound DX3R/SR3100 on to the pics... put the chassis together as soon as i got it in the mail... mounted the dig tray got my upper links a day or so later then i went out to the shop and modified some axial stub shafts...ground down and beveled... ive got the skids and pinions already, but im hoping my big box of goodies shows up tomorrow! | Thanks mayhem!
Well here's big THANKS to Mayhem Engineering. I didn't get these wheels ordered til Friday last week and they still beat my order from CKRC!!! Anyway I went ahead and mounted up the rear tires and foams since I won't be adding any weight to them. I will be running stock Rover foams with a 1/4" slice of Panther memory foam added to them. Check em out...these Spider wheels are absolutely gorgeous! |

well i got a good start on my rig today...my box of parts with the esc and axles showed up along with a lot of miscellaneous parts...i ended up ridin to hobbytown to swap the 56HB out for a 55 and picked up some red 70mm posts (body mounts for the 4.0 if needed). at the moment im stuck on my steering...gotta get jeff at KK to help me figure out what ive done... didnt weight the rears but they are around 10 oz to start with... weighted the fronts to around 13.5 oz to start with... heres what came in today... this thing is REALLy small... pinions (12t, 13t, 14t)... tore the axles down and replaced the bearings with Avid rubbers and lock tited everything... complete rear axle... 70mm eye to eye delrin links... putting it together... obligatory flex shot... initial stance... started on the dig tray... ill let photobucket take a break for a moment... |
