Default hairba11's havoc build

Figured i'd post up over here and see what you guys think.

I bought a set of used berg axles with rear lockouts, ckrc high steer knuckles, 55t motors, and some goofy high clearance tie rod that was not installed.

I got a havok chassis from JP customs (decal's on the 'bago)
Two sidewinders from Holmes Hobbies (ditto)
and had a lovely towerpro 995mg servo.

no steering servo mount was included in the deal, and everyone has the round thingies on backorder, so i made a wompus steering setup, and started playing with radio settings.

I got tired of messing with it and handed it off to ubbb69 who quit smoking and needed something to do to help break the hand to mouth habit. he re did my whole setup, and made me a skid plate and installed a different wompus steering setup, which worked great as long as there were no sharp right turns.

this being my rig, it is rocking a willy's body.

those seem to be the only pics of it I have before tonight.

here she is as she sits now.

I'm too cheap to buy the correct wheels so I'm mix and match right now.
9.75" wide in the rear, and 11" in the front.

well, this is ugly. makes me hungry for spaghetti

after cocking the axles last thrusday i had to put on a new steering setup. it seems to work pretty well. I upgraded to a 5955TG hitec servo after stripping out the plastic horn on the 995mg at disney.

about 3-3/8" of GC is about perfect. although i may switch to some lightly bent front links.

and another switch for me, almost 4" of articulation.

lemme know what you think.

here are some pics from the car show comp.
I would have come in second, but on the way up to the finish gate I spun the rear hex which tightened the axle nut so much it jammed the wheel and hex against the rear lockout so hard it stalled the rear axle and I smoked the rar motor trying to get it to move before I timed out.

Ricky, you say that like there's someting wrong with doubled up speaker wire and zip ties....
