| Notice to those considering XVDs
found an issue concerning those using axial knuckles and considering RC4WD XVDs. the axial knuckles cause a major bind in the XVDs. i am 99%certain it is because the axial knuckles do not extend out as far from the axle Cs(the reason they require clearancing). i clearanced the Cs untill i saw light all the way through the knuckles range of motion. put the XVD in and it bound. took XVD out, ground more metal. put back together and still bound. i can see it tweeking the XVD when i turn the knuckle. but stock berg knuckle back on and it swings stop to stop with no issue. just thought i would let everyone know. |

Its binding cause the axial knuckle pushes the stub closer to the axle tube. I might be wrong but I think you can use the ax10 xvd outer stub with the berg xvd inner. The pins are the same and it looks like the ball size is too. If you look closely at both of them on the site you can see the pin location is slightly different.

I don't really want to spend for 2 sets just to make one either. Do you know how big the pin is and how are they working for you so far?

truck is in peices right now, but i know for a fact there is more allowed steering angle. the only thing thats going to limit that are the links and shocks. feel smooth though. took them apart greased them and locktight, should be good to go

I use the Vanquish High Steer Steering Knuckles for the Axial on my Berg with XVD's without the clearance issues you talked about. I did have to slightly grind down the top/bottom of the knuckles (where the screws go through and brass bushing are to get a smooth action) No biggie though, they work great. mine seem to work just fine. put a tire on and swung the knuckle end to end and it spun just fine at all points
