Default KK steering link ?

I was wondering what the length from eye to eye with revo rod ends is? I am looking at mine and it is pretty long to get a 1/4" back. I have to go even further to get it too line up to drill. If anyone has the answer post up so I can check my setup. Thanks.

Right now mine is 6.5" from eye to eye and I am on the second hole back on my VP knuckles. When I first installed it I had major toe out so I cut about 2 or 3/16 off from the long side and its to my liking now. Not sure what your talking about with the 1/4 back and lining up to drill but I hope this helps. I gotta couple pics of the set up if you need.

The design was made long to work for everyone. A good move incase someone goofed on drilling. Put the holes in then trim it to size slowly until you get the toe in/out you want.

Not sure if yours is the same but I cut mine on the long side to center the notch over the gearbox.

Thanks guys. I will drill the stock knuckles and then cut the link. This helps alot.

One other question what drill bit and tap are you using on the stock knuckles? I have a few taps and bits at work but need to know which to borrow for the night.

I just lined up the the tires with a square. Sat the link (with ends) on top of the knuckle arms (as far back as needed) and then just marked the locations with a marker, then drilled and tapped. Didnt have to cut anything.

i used 3mm drill and tap setup. just cause of all the 3mm hardware i had around. Revo rod ends.

Just my .02

I just used the most common method I've read about. Bolt the stock tierod on but from the bottom ofr the arm. Then place the KK link on top of the arm, mark were to drill the holes then drillled & tapped them with a 3mm tap. Fine thread

Not sure on pitch, just a Dubro 3mm drill/tap kit

cool. I will pick one up tomorrow when I go to work. I am about two steps away from running my berg. Gotta get the pinions and then finish up the steering and boom we are crawling.

dubro kit is a 2.5mm pilot drill with a 3mm x .05 tap..

be sure NOT to use a 3mm drill.

I used the shorter version of the revo rod end... I think it was a Jato???
But I did NOT have to cut the link, and drilled the stock berg knuckles 1/4" back from original location.
