Default Fubar Cowberg from Scotland - Video added !

Hello to everyone , Here's my freshly built rig ready for testing in preparation for next years comp season . I finished it a couple of days ago and took some pics on the bench and during it's first run on my garden test site . The specs are as follows ;

Berg axles - Front clocked 20 degrees and fitted with cvd's and Kamikazi steering link , Rear fitted with Fubar Lock-outs and a Fubar Battery tray .
Fubar Skeeter chassis with homemade delrin links .
Lonewolf skids .
Traxxas shocks with Losi springs .
Eritex Delrin comp wheels.
Panther Leopards with 3 stage foams .
Trinity handwound 45T motors .
Tekin Fx-R .
Punk Dig .
Castle BEC .
Savox Servo .
2s 2600 Cowpo .
Spektrum DX6i .
JC Stage Killah Cowshell .

I must say a huge thanks to John@Fubar crawlers for an excellent deal on the chassis , Gerame@Eritex for the gorgeously machined wheels and the crew at CKRC for the speedy delivery of the Punk dig . All great people to deal with .
The body in the pics is from my last rig and i already have a new one in the pipeline . Will add more pics when it's finished but for now , here's the pics -

Bit of an update - Cowberg now wears a new shell , a Proline Crowd Pleazer :

Had my first proper run out with this rig on the 13th Dec at SDR Trophy Comp . It was a cold and damp day and i was running the 3 stage foams and had added another 3 oz to the front axle . Rig felt stable and capable and i gained alot of confidence with it . Amazed myself at finishing 4th at the end of the day .
Bring on the next comp - although if the weather is as cold then i think i'll be trying some of NovasArk foams instead .
Here's the only pics that i got of it at the comp ..........

Hi Steve,

i run the Skeeter with some Bullys under it and love it
Your Skeeter Berg looks really awesome especially the cow skin is an eyecather
at it's own

BTW what area are you crawling on? Looks like concrete...

Greetings Frank

Hi Frank , Thanks for your kind words bud , this is THE BEST crawler i've built so far and i love the way it feels - supple and fluid .

The courses at SDR are of an Urban variety and have a mix of materials mainly held together with concrete . Here's a link to some more pics of the track ; http://ukrcrc.com/forum/viewtopic.ph...er=asc&start=0

Regards , Steve .

Your rig looks sick, I cant wait to build my berg/bully. Are there any other pics of the rig in the second pic (from the link), looks like a cantilever suspension setup.

The rig you refer to is a Tamiya CR-01 and it's owner has updated it somewhat now . Here's a link to his thread -

Update time - I've swapped out the 3 stage foams i was running for some of Nova's killer 2 stage foams ( Big thanks to Eddie , you are the No.1 Foam dude ) - WOW , they are simply awesome , i've narrowed the front inners by 1/4" and the rear inners by 5/8" as suggested by Eddie and it has transformed the whole feel of the rig . I've also swapped the front springs for Losi Grey ones to soften it up a little .
Then a parcel arrived this morning from Shane_744 , big thanks to you bud , with an RC-Innovations OTT clocked steering kit for VP knuckles . Just had to fit it tonight and 1st impressions are good . I've used some Felsenfest V1 knuckles instead of the VP ones and it works without a problem . Gives a little toe in which will help being a front of axle set-up .
Will file back the Felsenfest knuckles once i've had a chance to get out and use it in anger tomorow . Anyway here's some pics ......
