Default gear case

what are the pro's and con's of grinding off the screw on the front of your gear case....?????????

anyone have it spread open???

or anything like that??

cant decide to do it or not......

If you tweak on it without it you can actually see the case spread open a bit. I did it on my 2.2 and have not had a issue yet.

ive run the front of mine ground down for a couple comps and had no issues. i'm about to grind the rear, too

I took the screw off both front and rear, the cases spread apart a smidgeon, maybe a scosch, definately not enough to effect anything. Have been runnin it this way for 3 or 4 months. I also made a small skid for the front tranny case to help pop over rocks a little easier. It works very good. Sorry, no pics, I am still computer illiterate, but I guess that is better than being regular old illiterate.

I've seen you drive, leave them alone. :-P Plus with the speed you hit things at I doubt that little knub is holding you back.
