Default Joe's Berg Tracer Build

Hey Folks - I've been working on a Berg Tracer build and thought I'd put up a quick build tread. Still a work in progress (and my first Berg)...

Tracer Kit with Berg V2 Axles
Tekin FXR ESC
CC BEC
Punk Dig
JR Steering Servo
Delrin Lower Links (Black Label Crawlers - Thanks Zack)
Carbon Fiber Upper Links (Black Label Crawlers)
HH TorqueMaster Pro 45T Motors
Vanquish DH Wheels
HB Rovers (pink) w/ Nova Foams
3s Battery
Futaba 3PM-MX Radio

Next on the list:
Figure out how to best mount the body
Switch to white rovers
OTA steering kit
Think about moving the battery to the rear axle

Any other suggestions???

the capacitor on the ESC looks like it could be taken out easily. i always lay mine flat on the top of the esc and shoegoo it so it cant move. ive heard of people smoking the fxr's cause the capacitor leads broke

Looks good! Getting everything to fit is hard with the narrow chassis. I'd try to switch positions with the battery and electronics. Battery weight up front and esc/dig more protected.

Hey Joe! Sweet start, to a nice rig. Can't wait to see it when you finish. What body are you going with?

I'll definitely do that.

Yep. A soon as I get motivated I'm going to move it all around.

I picked up a CKRC Baja. Still need to paint it and pick up some extra mount parts.

slick looking tracer!

I run a proline crowd pleaser body and have 3 post mounting system. I use the 2 posts that they give you on the side behind the front wheels. I then used an associated 90degree post and mounted it off one of the upper shock holes.

What offset/track width you running on your vp wheels?

I ordered some extra mounting posts. I'm going test out some options when I get them. Can you post a pic of your setup? Curious to see how you did it.

I'm running the 460 hex hubs front and back. That puts the track width at 10.5 inches.

I haven't made much progress. Anything new on your rig? Been driving it alot?

I did mount the body, but still need to reposition the electronics, move the battery, and OTA the steering. And learn to drive it !
Some glamour shots...

Your rig really looks great! I have been working a lot, and haven't had time to do much with my rig at all. I will have some time this weekend to make new skids for the axles, I hope.

I'm using a 3S Cheap Battery Packs Elite 1700 11.1v 35C. Pretty happy with it.

I hear you!!! Now that I think of it, I need to add axel skids and a chassis skid to my list of to-do's. Put up some pics when you finish - I could use something to copy from!

I was wrong they do have them.. my bad!! anyways I'm thinking of trying the tracer chassis, but on the fence.. or i might just get v1 axles and build my own with a hint of T1E flavor. How stable does it feel, and does it articulate smooth?

I'm probably not the best person to ask - this is my first Berg and the only one I've ever driven (I also don't have much driving time on it, just built it). That being said, I do like it a lot. The articulation is smooth and it's pretty stable. Takes some getting used to though.

Hello. I´ve seen your berg and I like it so much!! So, I would like to buy a body like yours. Please, could you tell the size of the body? Is it 1:10 or 1:16 scale? And where did you buy it?

Thank you.
