Default Shocks recommendations

I have put together a new Beetle Juice V3. I have always struggled with shocks in racing and now in crawling

I have used Losi and did not like they way they worked and currently, I am trying to get the Traxxas Big Bores to work. I rebuilt them on Friday and went to a comp on Saturday and the left front shock quit working after 2 gates.

I am not a total newbee to RC but my shock package sure sucks (at least that was the message from my driver/Son)

I open for any suggestions

Thanks in advance

What do you mean? How did it quit working?

Also, what springs and weight oil are you running?

I used the Traxxas 2660's with the cap mod, losi golds springs in the front, losi grey springs in the rear and they worked great.

first of all get away from the losi shocks they leak and are inconstant in all areas...try the integy mrs10 31/2"shocks or the duratrax dtxc9003 31/2" or dtxc9004 4" shocks they seem to be working very well on my moon buggy and others that we crawl with....good luck

If you lift the left front wheel off the ground the shock did not want to retract. I was running 30 losi oil with gold springs

I have gotten rid of all my Losi shock for the same reason. I have the Durtrax on a scaler and I have been running for 2 months without any leak. I noticed some of the guys at he recent comp were running Duratrax inverted. May have to try a set

Thanks

That would be my guess also. The oil weight and springs should work good.

My shock recommendation. Tmaxx plastic shocks found on ebay for around $10 for 4 shocks. They come with 30 weight oil in them. Leave the oil in there and install losi gold springs(LOSA5144) on them. Then use Team Associated RC10 Shock Bushings (4) - ASC6473 in the top of the shocks instead of fuel tubing to alleviate the chance of binding. That is the way I run them with excellent results.
