Default Parts Availability

Folks,

I have just picked up a set of Berg axles, and had them reduced, 86'ed and locked out.

All internals are in good nick (for now) but investigation shows that gear sets are in ever decreasing supply.

Where are you folks getting parts from, I am having bug problems tracking down a source of gear sets, either 48 or 32P.
Any help appreciated.

BTW, have used the search function and can't find any parts threads that have run this year.

These are the axles, set either side of a BJv3 chassis that came with my last MOA project, an LCC with eritex mounts.

The internals were only made by EnRoute themselves. There's been several threads discussing aftermarket companies building gear sets for these axles, but it's just not that appealing to them at this point with the XR being so popular and having so many parts available for them.

Do you have a problem with your gears?

I don't think so, but i have only inspected them, I haven;t run them yet.
I am just trying to cover my bases, and get parts whilst I can.

If I shag a gear in 6months, and they are available now, I will be pretty dark on myself for not getting them when I could have.

Looks like TCSCrawlers has most of them in stock...except the locker gear.

Enroute Berg 2.2 Version 1 Axle Replacement Parts*-*-By Truck: Enroute Berg 2.2*-*The Crawlers Store LLC

The only gears I've ever seen broken are the small 3rd gear...this is the primary gear to replace and this is why SDS makes an aftermarket replacement out of 300M material. The only other gear I've seen problems with is the smaller 2nd gear...once again SDS makes a stronger replacement for this as well, but I don't believe it's as much of a potential problem as the 3rd gear, but if you want to bulletproof your gear set then I'd recommend picking up both of them for each transmission.

Next item on the re-fit list, CDW (or similar) OTA steering set up.
Where, if at all, can I get one of these, or shall I cut it from a bread board?

On the gears. Apparently the hr gears are a direct fit but are a different pitch.

You Don't want that, what you have just use a straight or semi bent link to both knuckles, then add in a short tie rod.
