Interesting take on axle weighting. It will certainly have the benefit of weight low. It will lose the benefit of having the weight as far to the corners as possible.

Looking forward to seeing more!

Looks like a serious loss of ground clearance. I think knuckle weights are a better idea.

The bottom of the axle could be grinded away to regain the clearance.

It's OK people, Mike is just suffering from age-related dementia, he really does come up with some great ideas, I believe he invented the cock ring in 1956.

Hmmm. Not too sure about this one. This design breaks the "low" and "wide" rules...but it does set a new standard for sheer axle weight. Let the man impress us all while we watch these evolve.

I think the idea is to have a more even weight distribution across the entire axle from wheel-to-wheel. Instead of having it all at opposite ends. Most likely trying to accomplish a more stable/predictable front suspension cycle.

Maybe.

So are they just sleeves? Why not try making the entire tubes themselves out of brass? That would get you weight and clearance.

I'd prefer sleeves my self. I'd think the brass would be way to soft to take the punishment

I think you will still need a small amount of weight in the wheels...

its only about 2mm bigger than a stock, if my memory serves me correctly..
but they can always be turned down some to get the weight you want.......

Same as I was referring to, weight below the axles centerline and on the corners is how I interpreted that.

I am looking forward to where you go with this. It is a different take, unique, and it may work great.

Don't know it 'til he tries it guys!

I might be interested in trting them on my super, but I have enough clearance issues on my 2.2! 2mm can be alot for my handicap if you know what I mean!

just got off the phone with 8-454...
he said it was 3mm bigger total, so that would be 1.5mm loss of ground clearence........ over the stock tube...

can always be machined down some to your liking......

you are suppose to keep your tires ON the rocks, not inbetween them........

if 1 1/2mm on a super is going to make a difference, you got problems
