Default Crawllife back home with 5D and Dlux

So with my happy return home to 5D and a new sucker punch thread, there is a dominator ( and super dominator ) as well.

I'll just leave it at the carbon cross brace sickness for the first night.

Nice!! The Dominator is one hell of a chassis!! It was great to meet you and Liz in RI a couple weeks ago. Look forward to comping with you at Rausch!

5D was cool enough to cater to my spoke jones. I had just seen straight out of Compton and needed spokes

The Dlux super lights of course. I started with the aluminum knucks and tried to get away with the 4 slugs but you'll see in a bit what wound up going down.

This is good inspiration. I just picked up a set of Bergs and was thinking about this chassis. Also, we live super close to each other.

A bit of a jump ahead but I did get the updated side plates and the 7075 front upper link mount.

This is what I meant about knuckle and weight change. I'm lucky to be home boys with hittman ( tho he may deny it in public , ha!) and he wanted to see if we could get the weight out wider and lower. This worked super well but I'm soon to move to loaded dice after seeing sick1's set up.

Had to toss up a couple pics of my first dominator build. I'm having those axles replicated but with all of the new school, DLUX parts. I post up what I have. I'm going to de-anodize the chubs.

Cases are milled down in the motor area for weight loss and most important to get the motor closer to the case for link clearance at the tube mounts. The reason for the motor opening being enlarged is for the modification where the servo is inbetween the tube and the motor. Without the clearance you couldnt get the motor to mesh without using a large pinion.
