Great pic from the days things had to be built. I may have only been comping a year now, but I been around a couple more than that. Fond memories, if only I had found other people to crawl with back then.

That wasn't even my 1st comp rig, I had a different TLT axled rig back in the beginning. It had a Bluemeanie chassis on it.

As far as my comp rig in the pics.(Bender chassis, TLT axles, MambaMax, R2D tranny, suck down winch using a servo, 3S lipo, 35 turn Integy armature in a Checkpoint can, etc etc. I still have the Bug body that is in the right of the pic. It went pretty good. After we stayed the weekend at Gatekeepers house for my 1st AL comp(before the Axial was even out yet) I pretty much copied the link configuration of a Gatekeeper GC1 chassis onto my Bender chassis.

I was running 4 of the 7 channels on my Multiplex 403......3rd channel for the RC4WD dig and 4th channel for the suspension winch in the front.

If you notice my Jeep's tires are still wet from driving it underwater in the lake.

And look what the tire of choice was at the time...........small tires FTW


*edit.........................looking at the pic I was running my tires the other way from you guys.

It was 12.5 inches sitting at ride height (Uncompressed) on a table.

I've seen some stretch out to 13.5 to 13.75 when the rule was that way.

I've seen some trucks come to the table sitting at 6 inches of ride height under the skid & before the truck hit the first course the driver would take all of the preload spacers out & the truck would stretch out & be in the Super Crawler rules.

So thats why the rules are now what they are.

That makes perfect sense. Seems the rules guys have a pretty good grasp on trying to even the playing field.

Yea that and also they would show up with there truck only holding it by the center and lightly place it on the tabel cause it was 12.5 on the dot but any little movenment would cause it to go over
