Our latest formula offroad comp (watch in high quality): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxZtPYpRnZQ We only had 9 cars in our team comp. In Finland Cup there are usually 15 - 25 cars. Our team does also crawling and we have 6 axial's (2x edge) and one clod (hustler). We wanted to try if axial's were good in formula offroad. We were suprized by it's performance.. The edge was ultimate in it's own class (modified). Cars: Unlimited: HB LST Pro-R BL (tuber blue) (last year Finland Cup champion by winning all 4 comps) HB LST Pro-R BL (tuber black, homer driving) Kyosho Twin Force BL HSP Tornado BL Traxxas Emaxx BL HPI Savage Modified: Axial AX10 Scorpion The Edge (tuber) BL Axial AX10 Scorpion (yellow) BL Heng Long Mad Truck BL Almost every car has some modifications to increase the ability. very nice you need some water hazards seen some 1:1 try to get across the water looks like most of the trucks there have enough wheelspeed to try |

Thank you. We use sand paws in all 2.2 cars http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXDT99&P=7 . Bigger cars (Unlimited) use maxx size, almost evert unlimited car has maxx paddles http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXAHA3&P=7 . Some guys have also tried panther tireshttp://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXNPN2&P=ML . Those seem to be working too. |

Since you're on the topic of tires I have a question. I tried to find it but couldn't. Somewhere on your site there were pics of a rig running maxx size rims with paddles glued directly to the rim and it had a proline k5 body. How well did these homemade paddles do?

They worked very well. The only problem was that you couldn't see the car behind the sandstorm.. I also have a 1/8 car (TT Ek4 S2) in a modified class. It's so heavy that normal 2.2 tires wont work good enough. Own made paddles is a must. Some pics of axial (the edge) in action: | |

Thanks, my super might need regeared and some homemade paddles, haha. Between your site, which I've been blindly wondering around since I don't speak the language, and some of the rockracing videos around here, I'm getting motivated to get my heavy rig flying. Almost forgot, what are the paddles made from? Looks like weather stripping maybe. Thanks again. |

Ah, makes sense that glue would not be strong enough. Now that you mention it, they do look like sidewall/beads a little bit, but I may be wrong. Anyway, thanks for the info.
