Default Amazing Rc Formula OffRoad car (BL)

This is vid from one of the greatest Unlimited car of all time.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr8FfeYu800&fmt=18

Clips from 18 comps - 10 different ground types - over 65 different stages!
Over 95% of the shots are comp performs. There are no "set up" crashes or jumps.

2007 it has lexan body, no lipos, standart wb. 2007 stages might look easy but they weren't that time.
2008 lexan body changed to tube chassis, got lipos and I made a new bottom plate.

Nightfall specs:

Hotbodies Lightning Stadium Pro-R
Own made bottom plate --> wb 46.5cm (18.4")
tube chassis made by tuunari (designed by me)
Rc-Monster Motor Mount
Proline Maxx Paddles

Gearing 13/48-51

Mamba Max
Feigao 8XL
ubec
2x MaxAmps 2s 6k mah lipos in series(=4s)

Front diff 500k oil
Rear diff 300k
Middle diff 150k

This video is purposed to show why rc foff is so freaking awesome! Enjoy.

do you have a build thread of that thing anywhere, do you have any body off shots of it, I have an 1/8 buggy that is already converted to brushless and want to see what it might need to do that to it , that is sic

Not so much building pics cause this was very easy to do. The harder part is to get everything in balance technically.

Basically I started from this

..and ended up this

Making a BL conversion is a piece of cake. You only need electronics and
a motor mount which you can either buy it or do it yourself.

I belive there are no stock car which would make the hardest formula offroad stages we have had.
Even if it has a huge power, a centre diff (which most bl conversions has anyway) and a longer bottom plate are must. Without them the car will just flip around.

The tube chassis is made from 10mm alum tube and rod.
A friend of mine used gas weld and did it by using a welding method called technoweld. It's more like soldering than welding.
This was the hardest part because welding aluminium has it's own methods. If you're more interested in that try google.

Since I made a new bottom plate (with my home tools) the original shaft was too short. That's why we had to make a new one.
We made a new shaft by cutting an extra shaft and sticking it inside a stainless steel tube. After that we welded all parts together (for that we used mig).

Pretty much that was all "important" information. I'm glad to answer more questions as far as I can.

We've tried that with bad results. Next summer we'll try again with different setup.

Jack Daniel's will be the new panel theme and MMM with 2.2k Neu the new power setup. Powering them there will be 2x 3s chinese lipos which we have found awesome.
I and my team have had lots of MaxAmps batteries and we haven't seen any notable differences between them and chinese lipos.

Center diff will be torsen which I have installed already. Front and rear diffs will stay original.

Thanks again to Mike for super fast shipping.
2x which both will be parts of the new build. The other will also affect the driver - hopefully by increasing driving skill...

Hopefully the car will look pretty much like this proto tuber when finished:

just got my hyper8 today, I think I'm going to use it for the foff build I see coming my way.....lol, all the extra room when you stretch the wheel base makes it easy for mounting the batteries;)

Yes and performance too. If you make a foff build and have some nice hills there you wont get disappointed;).
