Have you tried the FOFF closed cell foams Ashton gave you test? They are water proof and offer much better support and traction over conventional foams.

I just completed a 12.5" BWD whiplash today and will be pond skimming tomorrow if the weather cooperates. I have been running the closed FOFF foams in Panther Cobras and they work awesome on short course trucks. I have a set of Panther Paddles mounted on wraith plastic wheels with closed cell foams I want to try on the pond tomorrow.

I just realized you were not even running paddles and it still was hooking up KILLA, It looks like with the taller tires you can almost run upside down
