Default What makes it a FOFF...

Hi Guys
Just wondering , what makes your crawler a FOFFer
is it just a Faster motor/ Gearing / Sand Paddles / Lower CG

Is my AX-10 classed as a FOFFer or RockRacer..

15t Motor / Traxxas XL5 ESC / 2s 30c 7.4v 1800mah Li-Po
14t Pinion / 54t Spur Gears 32pitch
HR Tranny Gears
Junfac Shafts

Thanks
Sean

I would say also not quite a Foff. More like a Rock Racer actually. Lower CG is a must also suspension links should be longer. And with out any dought HIGHER RPMS are a must. Sorry to say these things, you are starting to head in the right direction though.

If I had to start again , I'd follow your build

I can live with it , classed as a Rock Racer
I'm getting a Traxxas Titan 12t 550 motor in the NewYear and some OD gears for the F/R Diffs ,
mite see if I can get hold of a SCX10 chassis ,if the price is right...

That should help alot with creating some wheel speed. The chassis is not as necessary as the speed of the rig itself. Lowering the suspesion and limiting the shocks would be very helpful.

If you think of FOFF as vertical, upright red neck drag racing,
with all the power you can afford, things get more clear LOL

Because of having the Tuber Cage (which I'd like to keep), I can only squeeze a 108mm long Li-Po in there and I haven't found a 3cell that small in lenght

That's what I'm running in my FOFF, the 900mah's only give me about 8 mins of full throttle run time. I've started running them in my scaler too, they last a lot longer with the 55t.

.

They are the 1/10 scale with Jato springs. May end up raising the spring rate once the rig is running.

It is what you say it is

In the Finish/Scandinavian Foff series there is a box stock AX-10 class
No paddle tyres
No rear steer

And a modified AX-10 class
only rule is
Max 12,5" wb
No rear steer

Morten

Yes Sir, those are the ones. I was just making a front frame brace on mine. I was messing around with the preload on the springs. I may not need to change springs, Amazing what preload does.

I'm pretty sure you could stick with 1800mh batteries. A 3 cell turnigy just like the one you have should'nt be any longer, just a cm or so thicker I believe
