Default 2wd FOFF

I realize that the builds I'm seeing are 4wd, but is it a requirement?
I really like the concept of formula, but I don't have a 4wd vehicle and can't afford one.
I'm not at all against modifying the buhjeezus out of something I already have though

It will definitely be to powerful and want to flip/wheelie all the time. Now if it was front wheel drive it would work alot better than rear.

That's what I was worried about.
Front wheel drive.. hmmm. My stockpile of parts are Traxxas Rustler based. I bet I could turn one into front wheel drive

Google 4wd rustler. I saw someone take a rusty reared setup and put it into the front of one. Then you would have a 4wd. I had a vxl rustler with paddles and couldn't keep the front end on the ground even with a 5000mah lipos and aluminum parts in the front end.

i have a stampede i put paddles on. it would be ok on the flat, but sucked on climbs. i bought another chassis and turned the transmission around 180 degrees. loads of fun, but not as good as 4wd foff.

there is a 4wd stampede, not sure how it works, but could be worth a try. i will try to get some photos of my mid motor stampede for you.

Either way, I can't see a 2 W/D rig working, only because your not driving on level ground you climbing. If it front W/D the rear will drag the rig down and vise-versa with the rear W/D the front will flip over or dig in.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying don't do it. I just can't see it working.
If your going to mod a rustler to dual motor rig, go for it. This should be very interesting.

Yeah when mine was on flat beach it would do ok with throttle control. I was using panther paddles. At any speed if i hit full throttle it would wheelie. I had a swammi bar on it though so the wheelies where controllable.

I run an old associated buggy with paddles on the back all the time. It won't do sand very well but gravel piles or dirt, no problem. Back in the day I went to timed hill climb comps at local gravel piles. There wasn't a dependable 4WD out till the
Losi Street weapon/XXX? touring car came out with enclosed belts.
