Default redcat based mini foff build

To avoid hijacking redranger's mrc based build thread, I will post some pics of my clone based build here. These axles and trans/motor have lived in a pseudo scaler/ mega mud truck, then as a mini revo caged monster/1.9 foff attempt. These axles are too small for 1.9 or 2.2 tires and foff duty, imo. These tires are off of a litehawk igniter and Ive cut every other lug off for more of a paddle tire. I have more than one set so ,after these wear a bit, I may make them smooth and put paddles on. Motor is 2445 3200kv stock spur 20t pinion mrc mip cvds alum spool igniter shocks. Axles have been narrowed ~3/16 and clocked. 33 amp quark esc and two 2s 800mah 30c lipos for 4s total. If anyone knows of a jeep body in the 8-9 inch wb range, let me know!

When it had a 1/8 esc and a 1800mah 4s lipo

Made a little progress last night, bout to head to the shop and do some more! I got the chassis plates pilot drilled and bolted to the skid so i can start to work on links.
Its looking like it will have a 8 3/4" wb 5 3/8" tw with 1 3/8" ground clearance on 2 3/4" tires.

Made some good progress over the last couple of days. Actually got her running and melted a spur down. I have a aluminium spur on order but it'll be a couple of weeks. Truck ran well, I was happy with the off the line hop given the drop in battery size. I'd like taller gearing but the esc gets warm as is.

I've ran this little beast through ~3 packs and ate up a spur each time. On the last run, i got the motor hot enough to un-glue the endbell and windings, allowing both to slide toward the non-output side of the motor. I reset the windings and bolted the end bell on and put a new 21 t alum pinion on. I noticed that there was lots of play between the motor plate and the transmission so i epoxied it to a spare trans case. The small gear in the trans was worn so i replaced with a used steel 13t 48p pinion. I would have liked to have a long pinion, but we will see how she does. I also set up a jig to drill out spurs to fit this trans so now I can have spur gears!
With all this done, the trans is the smoothest it has ever felt. I've added a fan for the motor and one for the esc. I cant decide on whether or not to run a bec.

I got tired of breaking cutting board skids, so i bought a sheet of 1/4 in lexan and built a sexy new see through skid!

I also put a overdrive pinion in the front axle (tra-7079), savox servo and cut the stock 1.9s and put them on while i work on my paddles. I've since bashed the hell out of it and played on the sand hill lots and zero problems with this setup. I geared it down so crawling is better but i still have lots of wheel speed when needed.

Cool down break!

I finally found some 1/10 scale sc paddle tires on sale at my lhs. Ive finally got my tires done! Front tires are approx 3/16 larger in diameter at the paddle tip due to longer paddles and have 8 paddles while the rears have 6 paddles each.
