Default R1 rock buggy electronics being used

Hi there, I'm very new to Crawlers, I want to get the G-made R1 but am uncertain of what the cost will be to complete the kit as well as what exactly I'll need.

I apologize in advance if this question has been asked 1000 times, but since I'm new I'm sure no one will be too upset about it

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks
Steve

i guess the real question is - what are ya gonna do with it? - 1-rock race - 2-scale/trail or all out -3-comp rock crawl

1-rock race - needs to be fast - so mamba max pro - 3cell lipo and and 17.5 oughta do that just fine - you pick the brands - keep the tire(even though they suck) and have fun or pick a tire thats a medium compound and semi firm foams
2- scale trail - keep the tires - by cheap brushed 27-35 turn motor and waterproof servos and esc - lots of choices - look em up - lrp/traxxas for waterproof out of the box - and a hobbyking 2-3 cell lipo - be careful that your esc here can handle 3 cell
3 - comp crawl - dig unit - 3 channel radio minimum - 35-55 turn motor or brushless set up 18.5 - new tires, new foams, new wheels - getting expensive now - heres some sites for all of the above

rpphobby - hobbyking - ckrc - holmeshobbies - rc4wd (especially for the 4 ch radio) - stormerhobbies - hope this helped
