Default Newbie R1 Owner....

Well, after a long road which lead me through Axial's, NightCrawlers, Bully RTRs, Bully ARTR some how I ended up here. I love the looks of the R1 and the versatility. I already race some SC and 1/8 and have some nice regular bashers (Savage Flux, ERBE) so for me this will be probably 70/30 crawler/basher. So here are the upgrades I started with...

High Clearance Link (4) for Gmade Crawler R1 Rock Buggy
Aluminum Shock Brace (2) for Gmade R1 Axle
Skid Plate for Gmade R1 Chassis
Hardened Carbon Steel Universal Shafts (2) for R1 Rock Buggy
Skid Plate for R1 Axle
R1 Rear Steering Kit
Tube Axle Guard for R1 Axle
Front Tube Bumper

The following electronics...

Futaba R603FS 3-Channel 2.4GHz FASST Rx 3PK 4PK 3PM
(2) Futaba S9157 Digital Hi-Torque Servo

Now these are the motors/ESC combos I am thinking of....

Novak Goat 3S Crawler Brushless System 18.5T

OR

Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster BR-XL
TorqueMaster Pro Handwound 35T (not really sure on the motor size???)

Thanks for any ideas you might have....

Go with the Holmes combo 35T! I have the same combo in mine and I wouldn't trade it ! I have some spare parts I never used but it seems you got it covered, let me know:

-Gmade aluminum skid
-Gmade bent links

Good luck and post some pics

Yeah...I was thinking about going with this combo as well. I think maybe the Goat will make it more of a basher and I really want this rig to be crawler with a little speed if possible. Of the two I think the holmes combo is better for crawling....

Besides the second servo is there anyting else I need for RWS...?
