Default Shock tower brace - needed?

Is there any flex in the shock towers under normal or extreme use?
Would this be a future stress point that is prone to fatigue after heavy repeated use?
Do you think the shock tower braces are needed either for the short or long term - or just a waste of time?

The chassis seems very soft IMO. I have run it with and without the braces and it does seem to sidehill better with the braces, but that might just be my perspective. I dont think they are necessary more of a piece of mind...
