Default red bull r1 panel pics

almost finished the panels. I would like to see someone with a "tap the rockies" r1? (silver bullet of course) hope to have the electrics installed by tuesday. I think some silver alloy wheels would match these panels nicely

That looks fantastic!

Crackin job.

Are you going to be using it for crawling or rock racing? In the end.

I think crawling as of right now. I really want to order a set of these

2.2 Militants Wheels Front (1 Pair)

connected to a set of these:
Rok Lox 2.2 Comp Tires

but what is the difference between the front and the rear wheel? It looks like the rears are shallower? the fronts are a little deeper?

I honestly don't think theres any difference in tyre size, its probably that he's got weights inside the front tires and they are giving the sponge less room to play with and in turn they are filling the tyre more.
Mine did exactly the same until I cut down the sponge a little.
width wise again thats your eyes playing games due to the diameter being larger I think.
Nice choice though it will be one of the best to look at.

PS if your going to use it for crawling, and are going to use the stock wheels/tyres till the new ones come, remove the sponge completely or they don't grip well at all, at least with the sponge gone they deform slightly.

Cool can work. Tsl's have a very nice rubber compound compared to Rc4wd tires. Except for the two new 1.9 tires, I have yet to get my hands on a set for trials.

Nice idea, works really well. You should get some of G-made's alloy upgrade parts for it. Some metal bling will really suit the bodywork.

Just realized that there are more options for wheels having looked under the tires and wheels vendor section.

Now I'm thoroughly confused regarding wheel offset, and hubs? do some wheels have mini hubs thay can be changed out on for switching wheels quicker?

Not sure what the offsets actually are BUT I have a set of axial 2.2's and there offset is totally different to the stock wheels.
I tried fitting them and used the junfac hub extenders which brought it all back to size BUT there was so much slop in the wheel like that it only lasted a day. Think they do 13mm and 22mm Plus you'll go through bearings quicker with extenders.
But those wheels might the same offset anyway.

Boy they look gooooooooooood

I'd be careful running any type of extenders if you decide to do a rock racer setup. Strengthen your axle housings as much as possible depending on how much power you're going to run. My guess is probably 3s.

I've tried both Integy and Junfac extenders on 2 separate 2.2 Axial based rigs, a rock racer and a mud truck both with an Axial based setup.

I ran variations of 14mm to a full 25mm (1 inch) extenders on both sides of my mud rig on a 12T motor on 3s with plastic wheels for less weight and custom 2.2 mud tires.

MIP/Junfac steel drive lines, aluminum hubs/knuckles, steel tranny gears, and used dog bones for added strength versus CVD pins. Extenders just add too much leverage to your weak point which is now your axle housing in a hard impact. I should have run some beef toobs for added support.

Not sure how much stronger if any the R1 portal axles are but definitely worth a try just keep your extenders at a minimum to clear anything in the way.

The more I look at the R1 axles the more I want them! Lol.

Yup totally agree with that. Having got an R1 and now having just bought an axial honcho can safely say 100% that the R1 axles are better. Plus once you add all the Aluminium they are gorgeous!!

Wink

Lol did you do all those screws up in shifts? You don't want to be changing those very often.
How heavy are solid billet wheels then? So heavy they don't need weights?

Car looks fantastic though fella, it's all in the detail, you just need a scale figure of Mark Webber sat in it now.
