R1 Axle Ring and Pinion play?

Ever since I've built these axles it seems like there was excessive play in the ring and pinion mesh and with no directions or exploded view, I just put them together how I thought they should go and I didn't have any extra parts. They've held together until I put the rear steer kit on and the slop gave way to a stripped gear set.

I feel like there should be a bearing or something in the axle housing near the diff, or at least something to index the "ring" gear in place.

(excuse my lack of proper terminology, I'm a 1:1 guy, hence the terms)

I was missing the bearings and retainers that locate the ring gear. We're back and I feel dumb.

Nice to no u got it sorted. There an awesome rig. Let me ask u this as I have this problem?
Do u get axle slop. Like I get near a 1/4 turn out of the axle. As in rotate the wheel a bit. And its got slop. And is there an over drive in 1 of the diff cos my rear seems to be faster than the front?
