| Noisy gearbox !!????
Hey guys, Just finished my new R1 and went out side for a shack down. The drive train is really really noisy. I am pretty sure the noise is in the gearbox. I have never run a truck with 32 pitch gears before, could this be the noise. It sounds like a small nitro car...it's screams. I have built it to be a rock/sand racer running a hobbywing 9turn brushless motor and a 70 amp non sensored ESC. Standard gearing and 1.9 axial rims. Any help would be appreciated. |

I found mine quite noisy, I added a fair bit of moly red grease to mine to keep the noise down, it adds very little drag to the gearbox internally, but then I run mine on a 23t Reedy motor with an 18t pinion. A 9t BL motor would be a fair bit faster I think so it's bound to be noisier. Oh yeah, I rebuilt mine with rubber sealed bearings too, that seemed to help, the bearings mine came with made a hell of a racket too. Tony |
