Default Bishop's RC Gmade GOM ULTRA4-truck

Hello! Here is my entry for build scale looking Ultra4/KOH -Truck. I also like way GOM looks, and everyone has seen wraiths, yetis and Bombers...

I pick my Gmade GOM-kit on EuroRC

I decided to go with brushed setup and 550 size 15t FTX-motor. And few upgrades for the start.

So far build is went with no problems. Let the pics tell rest.

I'm using Transmiter Mod Flysky GT3c 6ch and hi-lo-dig-setup

Testing gearbox and dig video

Build continues.
Had to trim front servo/reciever box bracket for 550 size motor. Without trimming it won't fit.

I found @ ebay wooden art mannequins. just replaced wooden head for a helmet.

Yes, bored of black plastic looking roll cage. Your GOM looks good.

Little bit of progress on build.

Now roller and electrics on just for test. Wheel speed is ok, stock 13t pinion and 550 size 13t motor. It still crawls and bash. Also tested gear/dig sifter... working properly.

MAX turning radius

Stock shocks feels pretty good.

Some paint work done. Diamond plate for looks. Too shiny. Also plenty of room on top of battery tray for micro servo steering wheel mod

GOM Build is almost ready, just few scale details remains...

Interior and driver figure adjustments.

RC4WD Diamond plate on dash board. And Roll cage done.

HW 1080 ESC and reciever in its own box under the hood.

Plenty of room for bigger battery. (Now running with 3s 2200mAh lipo) Also ESC on/off switch there.

Here pics when build is done and after first run. I got really big sponsors at the King of Hammers 2018 race. I played the idea of participating in the ULTRA4 KOH-18 event.

TRX-4 Spare tire, GOM sway bar at rear, at front inner fender plates for hiding electronics. Brushless esc cooling fans.

To do list: Side window nets, seat belts, lights, led bar and fuel tank.

Got bad luck, i think that 1 screw bag is missing from kit... Scews that holds roll cage/tube together 2,5mm x 12mm screws. I replace them with body panel screws, they are 4mm shorter.... they aren't going to hold roll cage together long.
Also broke the roll gace at the first run... just light bashing on rocks and outside temp was about +1c°

GOM crawling performance is really good. And my motor choise was 10/10. FTX 550 size 15t brushed motor (only 15€) with stock gearing. Enough wheel speed on grip surfaces, and still crawls smoothly. I like this rig a lot, it crawls well, can bash and rock bounce with it

But GOM's durability considers me Video @ first is coming soon!

My sons GOM broke the cage in exactly the same place on his first run out, again cold temps and one roll. Maybe there is an issue with the plastic on the cages.....

Any tips on a glue to bond it at all ?

Sounds kinda hokey, and certainly not scale, but I've successfully sleeved the broken sections of my twin hammers cage with plastic rod found at the local hardware store and some E6000 adhesive.

Thanks for posting good pics of the guts of this new rig. Still not sure what to think of the shifting mechanism.

Loving the custom paint on the chassis, I will be painting mine as well. Sounds like I should have a spare roll cage on hand too.

I almost did the very same thing but stopped myself before I got too far, see my post here
Basically to get your mesh set you can either spin the motor and adjustment plate clockwise or counterclockwise...... but if you try to do it clockwise it will hang lower than the plastic piece below it. 550's are usually no thicker than a 540's so length should be the only issue.

Well on the bright side the motor should stay nice and cool

Not meant to be a dig on your build, I just didn't want anyone else to needlessly do the same like I almost did

BTW I like the way your Bomber turned out, uh I mean Gom
