Lets try this again guys. NO blue star talk in this thread unless he starts pimping his new chassis. This is ONLY an idea right now. Keep this ON TOPIC or your post will be deleted without warning. |

if you have any pics of a chassis you already have made it may help you along as people tend to like pics and picture speek for them selves.or build 1 chassis so people can see what you can make.

Have you ever thought of designing a monocoque frame? A one piece aluminum (or titanium ) rectangular cube. Monocoque frame are used in the Champ car race series. The sides would only be as thick as the separation of the top and lower links. The shocks would be lying down inside like a Revo. One shock for the front and one shock for the rear (like the “stick”). A single "hidden" lay-down cantilever system similar to a “single-tree” like they use on horse buggies to transmit the up and down motion of the axle links to a single shock. Ooops, have I given my secret away for Diggler’s World Crawler Build off? Looking forward to looking at your CAD pictures. Good luck trying to make a profit building an RC chassis. PS: From your Sig line, are you somehow working in conjunction with Bill at RCAlloys?

That's risky business, but go for it. There's quite a few people with chassis' in the design process for the TLT, and the small scalers expect them to be dirt cheap (if you compare the scale chassis' to say some of the clod/maxx chassis' out there, there is a huge price gap). I think you need a more clear goal, unless this chassis you want to design will be able to be used on gearboxed trucks and clods, and will be part frame and part tuber, it sounds like your ideas are all over the place. One thing I do have to say, is if you're doing CAD, print out the stuff and make a prototype out of cardboard or styrene to ensure everything fits the way you want it. Then make your full on prototype and test it extensively, if possible get others to test with their equipment so you know it works with multiple setups. Developing something takes a bit of time, and alot of effort/thinking.

No The Yellow Thing Isnt Just A Stick Part Of The Chassis. Lets Say It Aids In Traction And Artic. Tortilla Lips Got Everything But The Chassis And The Yellow Thing Right. The Chassis Will Be One Peice For More Strength. I Know E-Machine Shop. I Am Waiting For It To Finish Updating.ERRRRR 56K. NATE |

Trying a forced articulation thing huh. I really don't think it's necessary, and will just add a bunch of extra weight that is not really needed. I hope your products look better than your second grade drawings Last edited by jason; 06-01-2005 at 08:44 AM. |
