Default Big Bores acting gassy

I have a set of big bores that I robbed from my E-Maxx(that may go crawler too) that I'm using on my VMG. They are all in great condition but one is acting like a 1:1 gas shock. It will extend about half way by it self with no spring. I opened them up and didnt see anything unusual, oil level was right, bladder intact. Whats going on?

usually thats a sine of to much oil or the piston doesnt flow well enough....

Whenever I fill my shocks, they all do that.

I run a droop travel TXT like that. It has some spring for a while before all the oil leaks out.

Take the shock cap off, check to see if the rubber bladder is squished up inside the shock cap. If so, yank it out, install it correctly (make sure it's properly seated), top off, cyclethe piston/shaft, top off, then bleed the shocks.

I dont have any oil currently but how do I go about bleeding the shock?

loosen your top cap and cycle the shock a few times. extra oil will come out.

The Revo shocks have a hole in the shock cap that allows self bleeding when you over fill them. Nice. All you do is tighten the cap down, the excess oil bleeds out of the hole, wipe it clean....go crawl! Cool!! I'm using them on Slyther now.

I'll have to wait till I get some lighter oil to set them up, They still have 30wt in them for running in my Maxx.

lighter oil? i use heavier in all my crawlers as it keeps the wheel hops down.

Its going in a small scale with very little chassis weight.

the oil isnt for chassis weight, its for articulation control. since it is so small you could get away with lighter oil , but if your project is your sig, you will have trouble getting light enough springs to work with those tiny axles and big shocks.

i tried one like that, it had a 9 inch wheel base. it looked horrible and performed worse.

I may go with some 4 inch stadium truck shocks, I dont know yet. I think the long wheel base that mine is going to have might help.
