| dual servo steering
I had 2 medium power steering servos and I was wanted to juice up my steering power on a budget of "zero". Here's what I did. I had a "y" cable for dual synchronized steering so using heavy duty double stick tape a couple servo mounts, 2 servo savers and some custom linkage I have a new steering setup. |

Interesting... Do those servos hit your shocks? |

I like it! One thing I would be concerned with is linkage binding during hard turns. This probably won't be apparent since you're using servo savers, but I bet if you pop a link off of one of the servos then turn hard one direction or the other, my guess is the link won't line up with the ball. A possible solution would be to run a short link from one servo saver to the other, then run the second link from either of the savers to the knuckle. This should eliminate any binding and increase torque! EDIT: Something like this... Last edited by KSCrawler; 02-27-2008 at 07:50 PM. Reason: added pic |

| Yes, I ran it around the house a little last night, climbing the back of the couch and whatnot. The steering is a crap load stronger than single with saver, climbing half up the arm and back of the couch the steering use to die, now it muscles right through it!

I would be tempted to link the two savers directly, then get rid of the lower link. Not because of binding, but simply for greater approach clearance. I wondered if anyone had tried dual servos like that. I was gonna try it on mine (work in progress) just to mess around with getting higher clearance. |

Looking for more steering power, and using servo savers doesn't make sense to me. I'd get rid of those servo savers if it were me. How many guys do you see run servo savers in crawling? I'd venture to bet, very few.

has anyone ever tried this on clod axles? I might try to fab up a bracket for this weekend if I could get them to fit without any binding problems.

hey there I had this setup on my clod for a while, but it was a Z linkage set up. It works very well, but a single 9559 works just as well as two MG995mgs. |
