Default First Tuber Attempt

Here is my first tuber build - I finally got a space cleared in the shop and the torch set up.

Default Phase 2

I got the chassis about 50% done now... Here are the pics.

Just the skid plate, link mounts, shock mounts and body panels left to do.

Pipe cleaners came in very handy!

Default Phase 3

I got the skid plate made - 3/8" delrin

Links made - Revo P3 pushrods for lowers, and brakeline 6-32 allthread for the uppers.

Locked Pede trans mounted up

Axles installed - stock AX-10 set, right out of the bag

Front shocks have stampede front shock shafts in them for shorter height and to limit travel.

Rear shocks have internal and external springs for lower ride height, more drop than normal, and easy adjustments.

Thats all for Today...

Default Moved

I moved this build in the General Crawler section since I didn't end up putting my WK axles on it. The AX-10 set is just so easy to pick up, and its basically the same thing.

But it still got posted in the WK section... So I don't know whats going on.

Yeah I used brake line (its cheap #1, and really easy to bend #2)

I just bought the longest piece they had at Napa. It's 1/4" by 84" long. And I was really suprised how fast that 7 foot long piece dissapeared. I ended up using a total of 14 feet.

Maybe thats why this thing is freakin heavy!

I usually use about 10 feet per tuber, all depends on design. The weight is coming from using 1/4" tubing. Next time, use 3/16" brakeline. Basically just as strong once brazed up, but a lot lighter.

Default Rear Shocks

In those pics I wasn't finished clearancing everything, and yes the rear springs touched a little bit. I tweaked the rear upper link a little bit so everything clears now.
