Default SOOOOOPER High Clearance X Factor Axles

I'll bet all of you X Factor axled guys are tired of hanging up the big, bulky, square differential on everything. Me too. So.......check it out. A little grinding, a little JB Weld...and I was done. Really smoothed out the diff and made clearance under there, not to mention the squarness a real plus!!!!! Give it a try.....way worth it!

woops....I meant roundness......not squarness.

The diffs are round now so they slide over things easier......if they ever even get in contact with anything. There is hardly anything hanging down under the axle tubes!!!!

So, you have permently sealed up the axle housings then, right? What.. no, how would you be able to split the cases apart if needed?

It looks good but I'm concerned about being able to service the diffs, pinion, ring gear and such.

Ah HA!! That is my little secret! For $50, I will tell how to do it and still be able to service the diff!!!!!

Just kidding:
Remember: The entire axle comes apart in two pieces...top...and bottom. You can access anything this way. I left the two diff cross bolts at the top but removed the two at the bottom where I cut away the plastic. I then JB'd the bottom portion of the diff. PERFECT!!!

Another idea I can steal. Just a question do you still have your cantilever stuff from that frame and are you willing it sell it? If so please email me at NeoSlayer888@hotmail.com.

Total craziness!!! I may try that later on after I get all my other bugs worked out.

Can I see a pic of your steering knuckle on the right side of that pic? I have the same type of steering setup. On mine I stacked the rod ends on top of each other but they rub a bit on the wheels.....

Could you show me how you did yours?

Mine rubbed alot.....the wheels would barely move!

I had to grind down the ball joints a bit so it wasn't so tall.

Basically.....when you grind the diffs, you're removing the screw mounts, etc. Just take the whole thing apart and start grinding as much as you can without going through the plastic so the gears are still sealed up. This is a great mod and it's hard to mess up......just be careful. Use a generous amount of JB but make sure you don't let any squish into the diff housing or it might get on the ring gear or diff itself.
