Default Would something like this help with steep inclines?

A reverse high clearance maxx setup.
Down-
Up-

When it is in the up position do you think there would be a noticeable increase in steep incline performance? I don't think there would be any noticeable difference, but want to hear what other people have to say.

i really doubt it. my locked maxx can damn near get all four tires to touch a wall without falling back. thats good enough for me.

the clearance would suck too.

I can think of a way that is possible but can't remember what it is called. I think it was Ace that made the clod with a adjustable wheelbase, the drive thing he used could be adapted to an axle. I really don't think that would be worth the trouble, so if I do make a maxx axle and have it adjustable I think I would just have multiple holes in the bottom arms, line the ones in my drawing.

you know what neo, you didnt specify any obstacles besides a steep incline. Jason is right, it would help on steep inclines. it could put your cg as low as 1/3 of the tire height or lower. for an onroad maxx it would work rather well.

depends on what it is all made from...but unless it is adj. on the go, you will not be happy.. you will go from 4" of diff clearance to like 1"...tune your current suspension better and you would be able to climb better

I guess I should have said that the axle will be in the up position most of the time. I just wanted to know if making the drop of the arms adjustable would be worth the extra work. I would try all climes with the diff up, but if after a few attempts I can't make it up I would lower the diffs and give it another go. I think if I do build some maxx axles for crawling, I will do the "extra work" which is just drilling 4 more holes. With my current design all I would have to do is loosen 4 screws than tighten them back in different holes to drop the diff.

then yes, it would help on those tough climbs as long as your diff didnt hit anything.
