| SAE vs. ISO viscosity
I've got a bit of a dilemma. I have a few large tubes of Tamiya shock oil (2 Yellow and one Green) and I want to know if they are stiffer or slacker viscosity than the standard Axial 30wt. stuff. The problem is 30wt. (same as 30W?) is an SAE viscosity measure I think, and Tamiya's are all rated in ISO # ratings (Yellow is #400, Green is #500) where # is water. I can't seem to find anywhere that gives an understandable conversion. Last edited by BritCrawler; 08-09-2008 at 04:01 AM. |

A website I used to visit frequently has some info about viscosities: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/visc.html No idea if it'll help or not. |
