Default Monster TLT

I broke my TLT axles in more than one place and decided to try something new. I still have a few bugs to work out before I can run it.

The clod tires look awesome! Your truck looks like an amateur monster truck, or a 4WD puller.

Where did you break your axles?

Thanks... I broke the TLT axles at the very end along with the spline. I'm sorry I am not sure quite what to call it. The tires and donor axles are from a very old kit made in the 1980's by MRP. Believe it or not it halls butt with the big tires since the axles made for them are geared low. The only problem I have had so far is with the driveline and enough parts to make it four wheel drive. No real problem though, just a matter of trial and error. It's just hard for me to believe how small it was when I first bought it... about $800.00 ago. I'm pretty sure I will spend alot more before I get bored.

By the way...does anyone know what type of servo would work good for these big tires?

well, if you have the money, this servo will work very well.
plus, i will bet you 50 bucks that the gears will never strip.

Ouch... 114 bucks for a servo. The titanium coolness factor wouldn't be enough for me to consider it But then again, I'm a cheapskate.

akcrawler, if you have a hard time finding rocks to climb, head out on the Seward Highway about 3-5 miles south of Potter's Marsh. I was just out there. Pretty fun with a 2.2 crawler... although, I guess yours doesn't really qualify as a 2.2 anymore does it? I'm kinda curious HOW you managed to break the TLT axle.

its not about the coolness factor. its the fact that those servos will never break and they have 333 oz/in of torque! thats enough to turn the tires even when they are wedged in a crack.
